Formatting and submission

Full research papers, research?in?progress and teaching case papers are limited to 12 pages in length whilst panel proposals can be up to 4 pages long.

Submissions to ECIS 2009 must not have (already) been published previously in a journal or conference proceedings, nor presented at another conference. Moreover, they must not be currently under consideration for publication or presentation elsewhere.

Copyright for all papers resides with the authors. By submitting the final paper to the conference organisers the authors agree to allow the conference organisers to have non?exclusive use of the material for publication in the various forms of the conference proceedings. Authors are actively encouraged to develop their papers for journal publication after the conference.

Please refer to the conference website ecis2009.it for detailed author guidelines, and for a Word document template that will simplify the layout of your submission.

Review process

All papers will be prescreened for conformity with submission guidelines and for overall appropriateness for the conference. Papers that pass the initial screening processes will be evaluated in a double?blind peer review process under the guidance of an associate editor with research expertise in the paper?s area and involving selected reviewers with relevant experience from the IS research community. The conference officers will supervise the review process.

The language of the conference for all papers and presentations is English. However, initial submissions will not be rejected purely on the basis of written English.
The reviewers will evaluate the papers based on criteria used by major journals and conferences, e.g. relevance of the topic and findings, quality (rigour) of the research process and quality of the writing.

The final decisions about all papers will be made by the programme committee based on the reviewer comments and the assessments by the associate editors of each paper.

The results of the review process will be communicated to the author(s) by early March.

The author(s) will be responsible for making the revisions recommended by the reviewers, and for submitting the final version of their paper by the appropriate deadline. Authors of accepted papers are encouraged to seek professional proofreading support if English is an additional language for them.

Any submission that exceeds the length requirements, does not adhere to the required format, or is delivered after the specified date, will be rejected without review.

Presentation at the conference

In order to get an accepted paper published in the proceedings, at least one author must register for the conference. In the case of panels, all proposed speakers must register for the conference.
